Sharon originally worked as a primary school teacher before joining the CRIS team in 2023. Having graduated from Goldsmith, University of London (MA Hons), Sharon’s interest in machine learning grew after being involved in a research project linked to Dementia.

In her current role as a CRIS researcher, Sharon is responsible for working with Natural Language Processing (NLP) experts on the development and organisation of NLP applications. She is currently working on a number of projects including assisting in the production of an application based on violence using CRIS data.

Sharon’s research interests include mental healthcare, patient and public involvement and engagement in research, natural language processing, data science and clinical informatics.
